I have my 41 mag all broke down and ready for blue. The last thing I did was to take my firing pin out for cleaning. That's when I realized that it might not be as easy getting it back in.
The end of the retaining pin for the bushing is contoured to the exterior frame. It looks like getting it to match back up is going to be really difficult. I think they are set up before bluing. Then they can be blended to match. So it must be installed for the bluing process.
I took it out because I was concerned that the internal part of the pin assy might be a trap for salts. What to do.
Anyone know anything on this? Is the firing pin assy installed during the bluing process? Or how do you get the contour to line up without possibly having to pull the pin several times?
