I say 2d best because my wife was out of town and couldn't go with me. That would have been the best.

Now that I'm pushing 62 and am an official card carrying geezer, I can do it the easy way and quit shaving grams by cutting off my toothbrush handles. These are 2 of my kids on their 1st overnighter. They're a couple youngsters that I'm training. If Elaine had been along, I'd have taken a couple more, but 2 is enough beginners for 1 person to deal with.

belly deep in llama heaven. They love grass, sagebrush, and rabbit brush.

to heck with wiggling into a tiny tent. I also like my folding chair and a creek-cooled long neck.

early morning visitor. I didn't have a tripod and it was still fairly dark so it came out a bit fuzzy.

Beats the heck out of arguing politics any day. Nice thing about this place is that I can pull out of the driveway and be saddling up in under an hour. Where I camped is at 5500' and it's all public land. It's only a couple miles off the road so it's close enough for an easy 1 nighter if I don't have time for a longer trip.
This pic is from an earlier training hike with 4 of them. The appaloosa I'm leading is the gray one in my original post.

You know we have not heard from Rock Chuck in a long time. Here's hoping that he is just lurking.
