I am getting excited. I helped my friend put in 2 sunflower fields one 250 yards by 25 yards and another 100 yards by 25 yards. got about a 70% yield and looking good. Come on Sept 1st.

I think I am more excited about dove then deer LOL

Went to my second dove hunt of the season yesterday, it was a ok hunt but this field is a bottom along a power line and the birds are always real high, hot as hell and the humidity was up there due to a shower about an hour before we went. The first hunt (labor day) was great, lots of birds could have used a few more people to cover the field (birds were landing in the field) out of the eight people on the field 4 of us got our limits (15 birds). Also really hot but I was so busy watching birds and hollering at folks to tell that a bird was coming their way that i hardly noticed, but after I got my limit and went to my truck I noticed that I was soaking wet. Its also really dry right now, Sat. morning we planted several fileds to get realy for deer season (50 % chance of rain- we got sprinkled on but not enough to even settle the dust). Today we burned 3 fields that we had sprayed with roundup a couple of weeks ago, most of it burned pretty well which will make field prep much easier. now we pray for rain.
