My brother-in-law decided to get out of handloading and brought over some stuff he no longer wanted. Included was several lbs of IMR4320 and a couple of boxes of 139gr, 284 cal, Hornadys. Haven't used 4320 much but did a little research and decided to see what it would do in a 280 that hasn't seen much use. The rifle has a BOSS on it so theoretically you can tune the rifle to the load. I picked out a middlin' load with the 4320 and the 139"s. Set the BOSS on the factory sweet spot and headed for the range. 1st five shots went into ablut 3/4". Velocity is only about 2650, but it should do fine for 90% of the deer hunting I do, and recoil is VERY gentle. I'm looking forward to taking her out for a spin!

I've got a cloverleaf load using 4320 and Sierra 150s for 30-06. I'll PM you the load tomorrow evening.

Cloverleaf load?? I just got my 06 back from gunsmith after having it checked and get a new Arctic Coating-Think I'll put a new matte finish leupold 2.5X8 with BC reticle on it and try my old loads first.

Sounds like a load that will take plenty of deer, this year. Are you planning on taking her out?

Howdy: If yer askin' me, the answer is "you bet". Will probably break her in on a few hogs, while impatiently waiting for deer season!
