View Full Version : Clean burning 209 primers
As mentioned on another post, I use musket caps on my Knight (T-bolt) due to confined space, fat fingers, and dirty blowback. Is there a cleaner burning 209 primer that would work on my rifle so I could switch to BH-209 powder? Knight recommends Winchester primers for their breech plug. I have also tried primer loader but have difficulty even using that in dirty confined space between bolt head & nipple.

I'm looking into this also as one of mine is a Tbolt.
Before I go to the expense of changing out primer systems I'm going to try a load with the #11 caps and see if it shoots. I gotta talk my buddy out of a charge of the 209 powder first. :D

The T-bolt.. a white T-bolt anyway, is perfectly happy with any source of ignition. The Cabelas Vara Flame primer, which puts a small pistol primer into a 209 works as well as a pistol casing conversion. If you're talking any ohter kin of T-bolt... disregard the above.... :D
Aloha...
