Surprising he was able to get that close even to a javelina. Pretty hungry I presume.
I personally wouldn't do it. I am more afraid of a small javelina than a large pig. Those sharpness of those long teeth have to be felt to be believed. And they can be agressive, especially in packs.

I have no experience with a javlina but those pigs and hogs can slice & dice you up faster than kitchen help can chop up lettuce.

The javelinas can open up a dog in an instant. Mostly the quail dogs that stumble over them.
Imagine long feral boar teeth on a pack of 30 lb pigs with bad attitudes. :eek:

One reason we don't hunt quail in Texas, the other would be those frigging rattle snakes. I don't want any of our dogs hit by a pair of those fangs period! To much blessed money and time wrapped up in one of our bird dogs!:)

Saw one dog get bit and survive last year and another die. Best improved quail habitat with lots of small game and cover makes great snake country. I seldom see one, but their always in the back of your mind.
