View Full Version : Primer situation
This madness may pass soon
I was in a gun shop today that had CCI and Winchester small rifle primers and a limit of 500 primers per customer. I bought 100 primers for $3.79 because that was all I needed right now. The 500 primer limit also applied to small pistol, large pistol and large rifle. They had plenty of 209 shotgun primers and there was no limit. I am hopeful. All the best...

I hope so. I had to special order some small and large rifle primers just to get them. It took two weeks and now the shop has them, guess I better get by there soon before someone gets an itchy finger and sell them to someone else.

I am out of large pistol primers and of course no place I visited in eastern PA has anything but shotgun primers.

I am seeing a few primers appear on the shelves at the gun shops I visit. Take care...

I was at a big Bass Pro here in KC over the weekend, and the reloading section was practically bare. Shotgun primers, and bags of #9 shot were about the only components on the shelves.

Lamplighter, I called the gun shop and that is what they told me over the phone... so how am I part of the problem? I haven't even been to gun shop yet.

You have developed Mens Rea ( Intent). Now if you do go purchase over the limit, that would be the Actus Reus, the ACT. If your buddy knew he was going to purchase his share for you, and he knew about the plan, then you two actually went to the store, then that would be a Conspiricy To Defeat the Store Purchase Plan. A conspiricy must contain 2 or more people, with an Act in furthurance of the plan. :D:D

I hope to get up to the shop this week and pick up some primers... will be grabbing everyone off the street that I can find to add the conspiracy

:D That is funny. Man this summer lull is so boring. I am shopping around for the Delta Treestand buck target.

Yes, the primer/powder/ bullet and ammo situation around me is real tight, as in NO FRIGGIN reloading components. However, last week the angel of mercy happened passed and the gunstore I do a lot of business with for years, got several thousand Primers.
Needless to say, I had the wife buy and several of my relatives too purchased me primers for my reloading wants. Ammo like .223 and 5.56 was like looking for a needle in a haystack but it too came in and most folks got plenty of ammo. I believe the store sold over $100,000 dollars worth of ammo in 2 weeks time, this being .223, 5.56 and .308 military stuff. I never saw so many people in that store in all my 35 years of doing business there. Hell they where lined up on the side of the highway parked walking to the store.
I have at least a 1000 primers now in small rifle, large rifle, small pistol and large pistol. I am good to go for a long time. New brass has gotten out of sight in price. I have folks pick me up brass down at the gun club and shooting range. It's alot cheaper that way for sure.
