I would check some of the national firearms auction sites to see if there have been recent sales.

AK-49.....I would say YES!!! Those rifles have been extremely hard to come by in my neck of the woods, Mid-West. I purchased a FAL SA 58, (.308 cal) which you could have purchased last year for around $1450.oo dollars. They are going for $2000 to $2300 dollars as I type this post. Also the H&K clones that sold for $500 dollars 2 years ago and $750 last year, are selling for $1400 dollars, if you can find one to purchase. Those Springfield M-14's are selling for $1800 dollars (not the match rifle) and they go up to $3,500 dollars.
Ammo for the 5.56 and 223 is very hard to find until just lately! Then it sold like giving away free cars at a dealership, must of it was gone again in 2 weeks. My gunstore sold over a $100,000 dollars worth of .223 & 5.56 Federal ammo. Also .308 ammo was not to be found and he got a shipment in of 100 cases at 200 rounds per case. I took home 10 cases myself.

AK........I don't have any clue about that S&W weapon! I never realized there were soooooo many of those black-rifles on the market. The past 30 years has been just my hunting rifles and a couple of lousy Ruger mini-14's 5 years ago.

Dont be afraid of the mp15 at all. For the most part its all Stag components assembled by smith. The only problem was with models under serial number 65000. They had gas block alignment issues(werent pinned). Smith paid for shipping of mine both ways, and was 5 days from the day it left the house til it returned. Mine even cycles 40 gr varmint loads with zero feed issues. Accuracy is on par with RRA and Bushmaster if not a little better. Fit an fiinish is top of the line. On a scale of 1-10 its a solid 9(I have owned a ton of ar's) If it came stock with a removable front sight(mine has a front sight and a removable troy rear)its a 9.5, and I have to deduct .5 for the gas block issue.
