I ask that we not only think of those who have died and those who have served this great nation; but that we each take a few minutes to ponder the freedoms tht we are so fortunate to enjoy due to our forefathers willingness to gamble and suffer for it. Those freedoms are what they sought and so many more have been willing to sacrifice to protect since.

Well, if I may be so insufferable, on behalf of myself, thank you. This is a most refreshing change from this day last year, when, while deployed to my little rear echelon spot, Elmer O’Keither was busy trying to demote me and further cast dispersions on my (granted, very minimal) military background.

Meanwhile, a certain sergeant AssJack takes every opportunity to berate me, insulting me the only way he knows how: by calling me a child, just like he does with so many others. He either considers children something bad or else he has an unhealthy opinion of them. In either case I’m glad I never would have had to answer to him, and pity those that did.

Wismon--maybe you should stop acting like a child if you don't want to be called one.

Having said that, I include you in my own thank you to the troops. Whatever the role, I thank all who have served to protect our freedoms.

You may be as you please at Swamp's discretion. That said, thank you for your service. :)

Good grief...if this thread serves no other purpose at least it reminds me that I forgot to turn on the ignore feature on the new forums. My time is precious and I refuse to waste it reading meaningless, hateful dribble from insignificant people.

And yes, thank you to all the people who have served. (Which I think was the original topic of this thread.) I sat beside a young lady this morning on the way to Newport News. She was about to deploy and I thanked her personally.

She seemed genuinely embarrassed by the attention, almost as if to say "you don't have to thank me - it's my duty".

With that attitude she has a real future in front of her.

I think you will find that attitude typical of our service members. Their buddies are almost always the real heros ( if you ask them).

Good grief...if this thread serves no other purpose at least it reminds people of self-absorbed dolphin-floggers such as myself who proclaim in the most public fashion possible how we are “ignoring” someone. We further claim that our time is precious and then spend it posting refuse and waste. We are wienerless, masturbateful, dribbling insignificantly.

And yes, spank you to all the monkeys who have served one up. (Which is essentially the topic of this post.) I sat beside a young lady this morning on the way to Newport News. She was about to deploy the mace and call the conductor, so I spanked thinking about her separately.

She seemed genuinely embarrassed by the attention, almost as if to say "if you don't get away from me right this very minute I’ll have you arrested - it's the vice squad’s duty".

With that attitude I won’t get to see her rear; she keeps me in front of her.

Says the AltruisticGyroscope who, in his first post on this thread, made a great show of how he was thanking others. In other words, with this latest post AJ’s just clumsily trying to pat himself on the back. What a knucklehead – always good for a laugh.
