Breathing that for very long can't be good either. Yikes.

And what they are finding is that the sulfur fumes that are being emited is corroding AC equipment, ductwork, and really doing a number on wiring connections in the wall switches, outlets and wall fixtures.

In fact one of the quick ways they check for Chinese wallboard now is to open up an outlet and see if any bare copper is heavily corroded.

Here's an evaporator coil I cleaned this past Friday. Upscale subdivision too.

The left side was cleaned before the pic was taken

This is one of my recently completed change-outs. An intermediate , nice system for a rental house.

I was telling my builder son-in-law about this dry wall and he wondered if there was a brand name associated with this Chinese stuff? He said that he uses only USG "blue board" around here. Up here he said that 80% of the construction using blue board comes to the Midwest because it is usually plastered over. White board is probably the culprit because that is usually only taped and painted.

The news blerb I saw about it, they were showing how corroded the wall switch and outlet wiring was. They had then cut out chunks of walls to be sent out for further testing. Later on, they said it all tested positive for the Chinese contaminated stuff. It could clearly been seen that the chunks they were holding up to the camera were sheetrock, not blueboard.
