Well the wife followed my advice finally and pick herself up a nice little hideout pistol in the form of a Kel-Tec 11. She mentioned getting their newest creation, the Kel-Tec 9 but I told her it is best to go with the one that has a good track record and all the bugs worked out. This pistol is a Double Stacked 9mm that holds 10 rounds. I would have shot it at the range but it was raining once again, so perhaps in a day or so , we will find out more about this little pistol with 400 lbs or energy.:):D
Those things aren't even ghastly expensive!
Let me know how she likes shooting it... Hopefully, if she finds it manageable, it would be on the OK list of options for somebody like me...

GF.......I have spoke to several policeman who have had and still carry a Kel-Tec 9mm pistol in the #11 model. They also have a newer model that is even smaller and lighter to, called the KEL-TEC PF-9, which is featured on page 45 of "American Hunter" magazine DEC. issue.
The only other small pistol in 9mm that I have heard from those that own or owned one is the Kahr brand but I have only seen one in a .380-auto. The quaility is supposed to be as good as the KEL-TECH or maybe even a little better in that respect.
I wish Sig Sauer would make a Sub-Compact in a 9mm pistol!!! I have picked up their new model P-38 in .380-auto and it is a nice little pocket pistol a hair larger than the Ruger LCP but NO 9mm Para. Caliber yet. We are going to the range shortly to shoot the 10mm and wife's new 9mm Para. I'll post the findings later tonight.:)

GF........The KEL-TEC 11, sells for just over $300 dollars American money! The Ruger LCP sells for around the same. The Kahr sells for $600 to $700 dollars. A Sig P-232 in .380-auto sells for $650 dollars.
Yeah, I was surprised they are that affordable, especially since a new Single-Six .22/.22 Mag lists at $600. I guess I had figured that $500 or so would be the minimum for a reasonably accurate, highly-reliable sidearm...
But I suppose building a good-quality revolver is fairly tricky in its own way, what with needing 6 cylinders aligned 'just so' to bore, and needing to use the right metal in the frame to hold up to the gas-cutting....
I'm thinking not many 'pocket pistols' get worn out from high-volume shooting, so maybe the practical requirements for building a good carry gun are quite a bit different. Besides - revolvers are specialty pieces--nice finishes, exotic chamberings, high expectations for accuracy at reasonable hunting ranges... Not so with a down & dirty polymer piece....

GF......today the wife and I went to the shooting range and she drove the big truck! Well, we got her KEL-TEC off to a good start firing the first magazine full of 9mm Blazer using 115 grn. FMJ bullets.
The little pistol's accuracy was good but NO Sig Sauer understand! The trigger pull on the KEL-TECH 11 is very long on every shot. My wife got a crimp in her right index finger from having to pull this trigger back so far. The pistol jammed twice but that may well have been from the wife NOT smacking the magazine clip into the bottom of the grip during the loading process.
I shot several magazines full through the pistol and that trigger pull took some getting used to really. The accuracy of the pistol at 15 feet is more than adequate in my humble opinion. I could cover all shots at 15 and 21 feet with my hand. So that is about a 7 inch spread inside a black 9 inch target with orange 1.5 inch center bullseye.
Now the wife shot the lights out using her Sig Sauer P-239 in 40 S&W! At fifteen feet she clover leafed one 5 shot group and most other groups shot were under 2 inches. Ammo used was Blazer 40 S&W in the 165 grn bullet.
I am going to ask around come Monday if there is a gunsmith that can do a trigger job on the KEL-TECH and perhaps cut the travel distance down to around 1/2 as much. This would indeed make it more desirable to shoot!;)
I am still keeping my eyes out for a Kahr in 9mm for a carry type pistol for the wife. :):):)

Hi-ball....you won't go wrong with the Kahr's. Mine is a P9 and it's a dream to carry and shoot. Some of the newer CW line is even smaller and more suited to carry.

Scout we got rid of the KEL-TEC # 11 and swapped it out for something with a better track record and better trigger pull quality. A GLOCK model 26 with a double stack mag holding 12 rds.
We also picked up another GLOCK in model 17 with double stack mag holding 17 rds, she will use this pistol to target practice with and finish up each session with her "sub-compact" Glock 26.
The trigger pull on the KEL-TEC # 11 is just to much for doing any kind of practice work with the pistol. The loooong hard trigger pull for women is not great, so I rectified that problem with a couple of GLOCKS.
Now last night was the first practice session with the full size Glock but it did not taker her long to be shooting "lights out" with the 9mm Glock. The 21 foot distance and 4.5 inch bulls eye target soon became a piece of paper with many holes within that bullseye. She was averaging 80% in the black, 2 shots out of 10 were only 2 inches off black bull. It is safe to say, she is very happy with her UGLY GLOCKS!!! ;):):D
