A very little known air battle was on Chichi Jima, about 150 miles south of Iwo Jima. The Japs had a radar installation there that had to be taken out before the attack on Iwo. We had 8 planes shot down, one of which was flown by George H W Bush. However, he was rescued by a sub. The story isn't about him. It's about the other 7 and what happened to them. The US found out and kept it hidden from everyone, including their families, for almost 60 years. The info was only recently made public. I recommend reading "Flyboys: A True Story of Courage" by James Bradley (about $10 on Amazon).

I've read it, and it's one of the books I recommend that people who think we were out of line to nuke Japan must read. There never was a people who deserved a nuclear attack more then the Japanese.

Which is part of why I think it's scary that the Japanese are beginning to think about acquiring nukes of their own.

With the genie out of the bottle in North Korea just how long are the Japanese supposed to depend upon us as their Nuclear Shield seeing as the Obamanator wants Us to get rid of the Nukes WE have even if no one else does so as to set the "PROPER" example of how to achieve World Peace?

What a whole lot of folks don't understand is that the Anti-Missle Defense (Star Wars) was never intended to stop a Soviet Attack, it was to stop the Rouge Nations (like North Korea, and Iran) from using the one or two that they could put together.

The More the Obamanator opens his mouth the more I FEAR for the FUTURE of OUR National Existance.

Dennis,

I didn't say I blamed them for wanting their own nuclear shield. Right now we are pretty darn unreliable to our friends and allies, and wonderful to our enemies.

Well, the pax Americana was nice while it lasted.

Japan has no army. They depend on us for protection. I suggest they start changing that and FAST. Right now, NK could overrun Japan in a couple of weeks with sheer numbers.

Let's just hope it doesn't hit the fan bad while this idiot is in office or we will be in ka-ka up to our necks. With the commie libs slowly eroding our nation for the last several decades; this "worst" generation doesn't have the nads to fight a war as bad as Iwo, let alone one battle. Same for D-Day.

Don't knock the KIDS now in uniform. I know a fair number that have "NADS" as large as any of those at Iwo or D-Day. Of their Comander-In-Chief I say be Very Afraid. HE reminds me a great deal of the EMPTY SUIT he is often compared to. the C-I-C reminds me a great deal of the bunch that gave the World "Peace In Our Time."

My Brother asked his "Broker" what he was buying lately. The "Broker" told him, "Canned Goods and Ammunition." Sounds about right to me.

It's not those in uniform who are the problem. It's those who control them from WDC. The real men wouldn't be allowed to fight.

DennisKeith,

You have to "read into" what I am saying. I'm not referring to the heroes that are out there; I'm referring to what would happen with the majority of the rest of the nation. Do you think that most of the civilian population would go through the sacrifice and hard work that they did? How about the reaction to another draft? How many would really volunteer? How would civilians deal with ration cards? That's what I meant by by "no nads".

Well, let a Nuke from North Korea fall on this Nation and I don't think the Current C-I-C would do more than ask the UN to Embargo the Bastards. Those that Voted that Nit Wit into Office would likely Join Hands and after a Group HUG ask "What did WE do to DESERVE THIS?"

Yes Sir you have a point.

As for the way I have it figured, one Korean Mushroom Cloud where it isn't supposed to be should be enough impetus to have a whole patch of Mushrooms spring up across Asia that will leave a great many HATERS glowing in the dark for a long time.

I disagree. They will gather and discuss the things we did to bring it upon ourselves. In the meantime there will be Oberman talking about the launchers being the "Truly Brave".

Some fools I just cannot abide watching. I believe I've had that channel for sometime now and have NEVER watched it. If I wanted to listen to Vile and HATEFUL SPEACH then I would go post my e-mail over at Democrap Underground. I would rather sit naked and covered in honey on a hill of fireants.

I listen to his rubbish in clips on programs talking about how hateful he is. The last two years of the Clinton presidency I would get up and leave other peoples living rooms when Clinton came on the evening news my contempt for him was so strong.
