A good read alright, but some sloppy historical research. In paragraph 2 or 3 it is stated the Battle of New Orleans was fought 3 weeks after the War of 1812 ended. That is true. The treaty was not signed in Washington, D.C. as printed, it was signed in Europe.

As I recall, the treaty was signed in Ghent, Belgium.
