Well, Huntamerica is up and running again. Too bad they eliminated all the old posts. I hope they get more traffic in the future.

Here's my question. How can anyone even consider guided elk hunting in the western USA when you can hunt in South Africa for less, including taking 6 or 7 animals, eating with silverware at a table, sleeping in a house with a bed, and having your laundry done daily?

Most hunters never consider going overseas to hunt particularly if they have not previously traveled in any of those countries. Add to that all the mis-information that is sent out by the different news agencies about the status of governments in many of the countries. Then there is a fear of traveling with guns to the different countries. Too many unknowns, so they just elect to hunt at home.

Hey Indy! Now have you ever hunted the those Rocky Mountains for elk?

Africa and especially South Africa has at least 32 species of huntable game animals. Africa may be the dark continent, but are seen as the "hunting mecca" of the world...and as Smokey said it is all about mis-information.

Agreed.
