Now this has to to be absolutely the best... the best one EVER.

Somali pirates. I'm sure you have heard, a joint Brit US fleet/warships are operating against pirates off Somaliland. OK, no bad thing, these guys have boarded and taken hostage 114 ships over the last couple of years.

Apparently British warships are under orders not to arrest suspects and take them abord the ship ------wait for it----- in case they claim political asylum!!!!!

This is Blairite Brown screwed up immigration policy. You arrest someone in the act of piracy on the high seas, and instead of being strung up from the nearest yardarm he claims asylum.

Only a British socialist could come up with one as daft as that.

They're not Pirates, They're Diplomats!

Woe, woe unto you when you call evil good, and good evil.

Seems to sum up the condition of society in general on both sides of the pond.

Herne,

Why not just sink the pirate's boat and let them claim asylum from the ocean depths?

Badger, I think they did, but not with them aboard. Then they gave them a rubber ring or some such.

Maybe they didn't because they were out of bullets for the big guns? Thats about our socialist mark these days - the only people who could buy a fighter with a concrete gun.(We were going to do that - oh yess)

If it was me I'd chum the water, call in the sharks, then I'd sink the boat. Save everyone a lot of hassle.

Then I'd throw Brown and Blair in - bait for the next time. Save a real pile of hassle.

If the Brits simply sunk the vessel(s) and all aboard, no one would be left to admire the authority and pomp of the Queen's best. :D

Now I understand. There had to be a logic somewhere. Silly me. Thanks NCB.

Meyrick, the logical thing to do would be to bring them back to GB and after making sure they were healthy and in excellent condition and then carry them to a beautiful island paradise and provide 200 million dollars to enjoy for the rest of their days.... oh wait, that has already been done by our socialist.

Venado, you got it all wrong. The kenyan in the whitehouse didnt promise the Palau government $200m to take the terrorist trainees off our hands. According to the talking heads that we get our news from that $200m is part of a mutual defense treaty and has nothing to do with our prisoners.
A mutual defense treaty! Aint it great! If the United States should be attacked by a foreign power we can now count on our friends, the native people of Palau, to just jump into their duggout canoes and paddle a few thousand miles across the Pacific ocean to help us out.
