SWORDLESS SAILORS

Graduating midshipmen of the U.S. Naval Academy in Annapolis are being told in writing to leave at home or in their vehicles all "ceremonial swords" and anything else "that might be considered a weapon or a threat by screeners" for Friday's outdoor commencement ceremonies featuring an address by President Barack Obama.

Inside the Beltway has obtained the academy's list of prohibited items for this year's graduation exercises, which, besides ceremonial swords, includes umbrellas.

Yes, cell phones and texting are still allowed.

What a load of crap. These brave men and women are the cream of the cream. They are the best, brightest, and most honorable citizens this country has to offer. Each and every one of them would die for Obama. To suggest that they are not to be trusted is simply a slap in their face.

I presume the Commander in Chief has issued an order for them ot go on parade improperly dressed.

Fortunately at Sandhurst, our people still go on parade with rifles, bayonets and swords - especially when the Sovereign is there. But then we held her Commission, and wore her crown.

"Elizabeth the Second, by the Grace of god, Queen, to our trusty and well beloved .... greetings. By these presents...." so it goes, signed by her in person.

I am, like Twanger, surprised.

-----------------

If Brown or Blair were at the parade taking the salute, the parade ground would be deserted, and they might need to tell the boys to leave their pointy toys at home.

That right there says volumes about B Hussein Obama, he knows what he is doing is not well liked and fears everyone as a possible assasin no doubt. As I recall my history Stallin and Hitler were similarly parinoid. Jus more reason for him to claim the need of his national paramilitary force sworn to him alone.

makes me want to puke.

Obama and the perceived elite obviously feel threatened by men of honor. What that tells me is the ruling elite as well as the HNIC are undeserving scum with little understanding or care about the pride and respect our military people deserve.

The guy doesnt dare to even get up in the middle of the night to drain his radiator without puttin' four layers of kevlar on, is it any wonder that swords make him nervous?

So basically, somebody has decided that the CINC is safer, when surrounded by 'his' troops, if those troops are disarmed.

JMO, every sailor & marine in the house shoud be armed to the teeth and the CINC should give the secret service guys the day off. If he can't do that and feel safer than under SS guard, then....

'[Washington], we have a problem....

I guess Twang said it. No concept of honor.

Bad sign.

And the rest of the world sees it as well. Why do you think that crazy Korean Bastard and the Urainian loud mouth are doing what they're doing.

I hope they don't invite him back next year. It's a total disgrace and a gross insult.

The Commander will be fired if such a thing is even considered. The IG firing should make this perfectly clear. Praise Obama or suffer the consequences.

btw, the report is from the Washington Times, slight difference. :D

It's just not fair! Colleges and the military are honored by his presence but there's never any recognition for us regular Joes.
I propose that he be invited to speak and hold the targets at this fall's turkey shoot up at the club.

Been doing some reading. To be fair, Obama and/or the secret service did NOT de-sword the middies. They haven't worn swords at graduation for many years. This is nothing new. This is another internet hoax.

Thanks Rock Chuck. I have got where I Snopes most everything on him I forward unless it is accredited to a known writer such as from Town Hall. The man does enough we do not need to fabricate stories which will end up being a smear on us instead. I am all for letting him destroy himself with our help, but lets keep it honest.

Even though we were involved in an error on this sword deal, I feel he is normally disrespectful to the military in general. Overal his general lack of experience in military affairs, most government functions and life in general exemplifies how ill prepared he was for this job. His own party brought this up nemerous times during the primaries.

The Postal Services created a stamp with a picture of President Obama. The stamp was not sticking to envelopes. This enraged the President, who demanded a full investigation.
After a month of testing and $1.73 million in congressional spending,
a special Presidential commission presented the following findings:

The stamp is in perfect order.

There is nothing wrong with the adhesive.

People are spitting on the wrong side :p :p :p

I'm not suggesting anything, but you can't get your pic on a postage stamp until you're dead. If he wants his pic on one, he'll have to make arrangements.

Wonder when the purges will start? He will need to fill the ranks with loyallists
