Would like to find a good place to dove hunt this fall, hopefully close to or in Virginia.

Any ideas?

How about any places where there would be a tresspass fee for the day to hunt?

Thanks

I hunted a lot of military installations while I lived in VA. Very good deer hunting.

I have moved a lot so I was always looking for places to hunt after a move. I was constantly calling the DNR and forestry people for suggestions. You have to pry their mouths open sometimes and need to make repeated calls to get all the info. Persistence will pay off.

Little Buck,

Most of the VGIF wildlife refuges have areas set-aside for dove hunting. Usually they plant crops to encourage them to show up. As to which one of them is the best, I couldn't tell you.

But finding a place to hunt doves in VA shouldn't be hard. And it's a lot of fun, but those doves will humble you fast. Or humble me fast, at least.

What I like to do is notice the flyways during the off season. In my experience they've been consistent year after year. It's a lot of fun, if not necessarily productive, in my case.

Now if you want the best dove hunting in the world, look to Argentina. You can shoot till your shoulder is sore and your gun is hot. And I don't think it's too expensive, but I might be wrong.
