Doin a major job on a small house;

removed old metal, then removed old shingles, then removed the sheathing boards, installed a hi-tec (http://www.teksupply.com/webapp/wcs/stores/servlet/CategoryDisplay?catalogId=10053&storeId=10001&categoryId=34956&langId=-1&division=TekSupply&top=Y&parent_category_rn=34956&top_category=34956&breadcrumb_trail=TekFoil+Reflective+Foil+Insulatio n&breadcrumb_categoryIds=34956) custom combination (http://www.pima.org/ContentPage/ContentPage5,45.html) insulation package ,and resheathed using cutting edge (http://www.airvent.com/professional/products/intake-theedge.shtml)attic ventilation materials and methods, then installed 30yr Arch shingles custom fit to the house for the coming new trim siding. ;)

A section of the house was once a back porch that got enclosed somewhere down the line. In removing the old sheathing boards from this area, I noticed one or two of em had been severely burned. :confused:

I looked at the rafters and adjacent boards and no sign of a fire, ever.

Some old codger salvaged those sheathing boards from ... something, and put em on his house. I can almost hear him now, 'nobody gonna see it noway.' :rolleyes:

I'll post pics after/if I get authorization. :D

Sounds like they'll have a much nicer abode when you are all finished.

The people behind me just converted an open back porch into an extra room, then got a new roof, and then had the outside of house painted (so the new room matches everything else perfectly), and then put up a new fence.
