Hawks seem to be enjoying a real surge in popularity these days. I've collected them for a lot of years. Most of mine are users. I have carried them in the field, used them for trail clearing, done yard work, and thrown them. Even tried a little butchering work with one that has a curved blade.
My favorite hawks were made by Two Hawks, before he passed away and his family sold the business. However, H&B Forge makes some less expensive models that are quite sturdy.
Anyone using a hawk regularly? Do any of you carry them when hunting? Anybody bought a new hawk lately?

I've had this for about 25 year. H&H head. I have a few trophy cups for throwing. Hawk and Knife.

JAH , I've seen them Hawks and their nasty.
Not many would throw their Hawk , once it left their hand they didn't have it any longer and felt defenseless.

DaveHawk,
Congrats on winning the trophies! I need to get a large tree round for a target. The hawks can be thrown at a foam archery target but are somewhat hard on it.
JAH,
I've looked at those hawks and they are certainly strongly constructed. A bit heavy, but not terribly so. I'd like to see the leading point brought forward and the leading edge sharpened so that they would have at least a modest thrusting capability, like the Warhawk that Two Hawks used to make.
Thanks for sharing!

I set up a tri pod behind my house with a throwing block and would a hour or 2 every evening throwing. I got parity nasty with that thing and a knife.

Yes, it's amazing how quickly skill develops with that level of practice. I'll mention in a separate thread what is generally regarded as the greatest recorded knife throw in military history.
