Civil rights leaders in Greenville held a meeting Thursday over their concerns about race issues following the shooting that killed two men in downtown Greenville.
The two victims were white. The suspect is black. Authorities are still searching for James Richardson.
He presented pages and pages of comments posted on news websites that he says expressed racial overtones and retaliation on the black community.
Huggins said the comments on internet websites create tension that's taking the focus off the crime and inciting racism.
The comments "incite the community and dispute the community," Huggins said. "It indicates we're going back to the 60s and 50s, and then we got problems, we got problems."
