Most states which prohibit baiting have extended their legal definition of 'bait' to include chemical and mineral attractants--probably in direct response to this and other loophole products (in-lines and crossbows come to mind ) which were not expressly and specifically prohibited under the old [common sense] regs & definitions.
You, of all people, ought to know that it would be a very simple thing to analyze a soil sample and show abnormally high concentrations of minerals in the soil in concentrations which match the chemical analysis reported in the side of the bottle, bag or bucket...
I'm still curious as to whether somebody is going to test (in court) the definition of 'chemical attractant' and see if they can make a case that any given atttractor scent would be correctly classed as a 'chemical attractant'....
Wouldn't bother me in the slightest if that case were won, 'cuz I don't hunt that way, and that's mostly because I really don't see 'doe pee' as being any different than a big ol' bait pile... . Give a teenager a choice between a burger and 30 minutes in the back seat with a willing cheerleader, and he's not going to be asking you to pass the ketchup.... not for about a half hour, anyway :D

I'd like to be able to try some stuff like C'mere DEER just for the heck of it
but my state doesn't allow baiting or feeding. They are also looking into
prohibiting doe pee in a effort to keep cwd out of the state.

I've never used that stuff, but there are some attractants on the market that I've used which worked very well.
I think that trying to ban those type of liquid attractants is a position that is practacally unenforcable. They can be banned, but I don't see the effort to enforce it being worth the bennefit of having them banned.

I've used deer cane and have a few big holes that deer have dug.

imho, hunting would be better all around if baiting were made illegal here in NC and elsewhere as well.
