went out yeasterday caught the usual kings and snapper plus this scallop hammerhead that went over 200# it got hooked deep and wasn't going to live so i took it to a buddy who don't mind eating hammerhead. i don't care for it my self but they do put up a hell of a fight on rod and reel http://i31.tinypic.com/1zybg9s.jpg http://i32.tinypic.com/9tjpm8.jpg http://i27.tinypic.com/2akbw8x.jpg

Bet that was a blast! Great catch.

I have only had blacktip shark but if hammerhead tastes similar count me in. I remember when some vendors at the New York fish market got caught passing off shark as the much more expensive swordfish. A number went to jail, but apparently the flavor an texture were close enough they got away with it for years.

Nice catch! I've never caught a hammer head. I've landed quite a few tiger sharks and bull sharks... and what the Thais call a reef shark, but never a hammer.

STX-HUNTER........Way to go!!! Yep, nothing like catching a friggin Shark on a rod n reel. Some years ago, down in Tampa, FL. I used to enter in that big shark catching tournament. It was an experience and lots of nice fish caught and released. I never have caught a Hammerhead before, they are unique looking creatures for a fact.:)

Never caught a hammer lots of others, like them smoked good eating.
