I just spent the weekend on a lakeside campground. No A/C but electricity for a fan. About 20 minutes was spent fishing from a dock about 9:00 one evening as it cooled to 93 or 94. When the mosquitoes started I headed back up to camp and the fan spending the evening with my brothers and my family playing cards. Topping 100 degrees every day has about squashed any desires to fish.
This week is predicted to be a regular artic front topping at 99 every day and cooling to 77 before dawn. :(

Finally got out on Erie last night. The weather has been terrible, and the fishing has suffered for it.
Where I was, the lake is not even up to 70*F yet, and here it's almost August!
Up until a week ago when we had one day that went into the 80's, we were having the coldest July in 133 years!
Well a buddy told me that the fishing was getting better, and he got 4 walleyes yesterday. Actually that is kinda poor, as he had 3 guys in the boat, and was trolling with 6 rods. The fishing was so bad, that he would go out and get 1 or 2 fish for 6 hours of fishing with 6 rods, so you can see the improvement.
Last night the weather was so perfect that I had to go :)
I went out alone, and started out in the evening where my friend caught his fish in the morning. In that area I totally struck out, not even the bass were biting.
As the sun started to set, I pulled in my 2 rods, and headed to a spot I like about 2.5 miles away.
As soon as I started at the new spot, the bass were hitting my lure. I made 2 runs up and down the shore line, got nothing but 3 bass.
Once it really started to get dark, I switched lures to a Norman Deep Lil "N" Tennessee Shad color, and BINGO.... 6 nice walleyes in the box in an hour and a half. I missed 4 others, and something hit the lure that was REALLY heavy, but it got off before I had a chance to even turn the crank. It was really trying it's best to pull the rod out of my hands as I was trying to steer, turn on the autopilot, and slow the motor.
There are some real big Muskies in the area. To even be legal to keep them, they have to be over 54" long, so it wouldn't surprise me if that's what it was.
He won that one, but "I'll Be Back" :p
To be truthful, the Muskies stink so bad, I won't let one be brought into my boat, they didn't get that name because they smell like roses. The carpet soaks up that smell, and the boat stinks like rotten fish for 2 weeks.
The night time walleyes we get are smaller than the ones we catch in the day, but the ones I brought home ran from 17 to 25".
Going back tonight if the weather holds :) :) http://www.mysmiley.net/imgs/smile/animals/animal0028.gif

Went out again last night, 4 of us got 3 each which is unusual.
Most of the time one guy will get more than others, but last night it was exactly even..

4:00 am, just finished cleaning 6 nice Canadian walleyes :p :p :p
Another 50 yards out in the lake and they would have been American !!

Congratulations! Another 102 degree day ahead. I have not got motivated to go fishing. Waiting I guess for days topping at 90-95 degrees.:(

Here's a "snapshot" I took with my GPS/Depth finder of the trolling I did last night.
2 Hours = 6 boated walleyes, one lost at the boat (bad hook-up) and 2 throw-back SM Bass.
The blue marks are not the fish I caught last night, their just reference points I use for trolling.
I may go back tonight if the weather co-operates...
