Adjustable powder measures are fine at the bench, but I prefer fixed measures afield for consistency. I found the .444 Marlin cartridge case holds about 70 grains of 2F Goex. I picked up 6 cases at the range, polished them and put one in each of my three possibles bags and tethered one to each of my three powder horns.
I use a .44 Special cartridge case to measure 25 grains of 3F for my .44 Remington C&B revolver. Brass cartridge cases are easy to file down to the needed powder charge for fixed powder measures.

If you wanted to carry pre-measured charges, I found that the .444 cases fit perfectly into a .458 Win. Mag. case...
They stay together very well, and then "Twist" apart when you need to open.

Bill,
Thanks for the .458 info. A few guys shoot those cannons from time to time at the club and one guy does not reload.
I am curious to see how much powder the .458 case will hold. I like using the cases for a measure of powder and shot for my .50 smoothbore and for powder for ball loads in the rifles.

If you can't find some, let me know...

I use plastic vacutainer tubes with rubber stoppers to hold pre-measured blackpowder charges. I then write the powder charge weight on the tube. These tubes are cheap or free and can be reused numerous times. All the best...
