swamp,

I have never used molycoated bullets and probably never will. Several friends, who are accuracy gurus, tried molycoated bullets and are not going to do that again. I heard about bore fouling difficult to remove and failure of non-moly jacketed bullets to perform as formerly before the molys were fired in the same rifles. I am too old to try new bullets since my old jacketed bullets have already been tweeked to various rifle's accuracy loads.

Sounds like the moly may increase velocity but cause fowling and other issues like poor expansion... good for target perhaps not good for hunting...

While moly bullets may have many drawbacks, it is highly unlikely that they have any adverse impact on expansion. The coatings are simply too thin and lack any structural strength compared to the copper alloy jackets.

Well I never used those Moly Bullets either, until I purchased a CZ rifle model 527 that shot 50 grn "moly bullets" made by Hornady into less than .500 groups all day long. Now as far as fouling up a barrel, I never did have any problems with those bullets fouling, pure and simple. If Hornady would have kept making those bullets I would have never traded off that CZ .222 or Triple Deuce in the first place.
